This training focuses on criteria and strategies to earn the HealthierUS School Challenge: Smarter Lunchrooms awards which support healthier school environments through promotion of nutrition and physical activity. School nutrition professionals will learn how the use of food-based menus, standardized recipes, and production records can help with meeting the meal pattern requirements. Successful practices may ultimately serve as a foundation when applying for the HUSSC: SL awards. Participants will also receive useful tips on calculating smart snacks, implementing “Smarter Lunchroom” techniques, and creating healthier school environments.
